Simple video tools should be free, fast and private.
VimCut is a set of focused video tools that work in your browser, so anyone can trim, compress or convert a video without installing software or handing their files to a stranger.
Why we built it
Most people only need to do one small thing to a video: make it shorter, make it smaller, or make it play somewhere it did not before. The usual options are a heavy desktop app, or a website that uploads your file, asks you to sign up, and stamps a logo on the result.
We built the opposite. Every tool here, from trimming and compressing to converting, merging and the Studio timeline, runs in your browser with a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg. Your video is never uploaded. The work happens on your device, which is also faster than waiting in a server queue.
There is no account to create, no watermark on your export, and no daily cap. The site stays free through advertising rather than a paywall. If a video task should be easier, let us know.
What we hold ourselves to
Your files are yours
We design every tool so your video never needs to leave your device.
No tricks
No sign-up walls, no surprise watermarks, no download that turns into a paywall.
Do one thing well
Each tool has one job and only the controls that job needs.
Made for every language
Pages written for people in their own language, not run through a translator and left there.
Who is behind VimCut
VimCut is an independent project. There is no account system and nobody on our side can open your videos, because the tools never receive them. New tools get added when people ask for a job the site does not do yet.
