Compress Video to 10 MB, Free & Private

Need a video under 10 MB for a form, a chat or a forum? This tool shrinks your file toward that size in your browser, without uploading it anywhere.

How to compress a video to 10 MB

  1. 01Click "Choose a video" and select the clip.
  2. 02Click "Compress to 10 MB" and wait while your browser encodes it.
  3. 03Check the size shown, then download the MP4.

How the 10 MB target is reached

File size is bitrate multiplied by length. To land under 10 MB, the tool divides the size budget by the duration of your clip, keeps the sound at a low bitrate, and gives the rest to the picture. A short clip keeps most of its detail. A clip of several minutes is scaled down so that it still fits.

If your file is already under 10 MB, it is returned unchanged and nothing is encoded.

When 10 MB is not enough room

A ten-minute video cannot be both sharp and under 10 MB. If the result looks too soft, cut the clip down first with Trim Video, or use the general video compressor and choose a level yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the file be exactly 10 MB?

No, it aims under 10 MB and usually lands a little below it. The size is shown before you download.

Why does a long video look worse?

The same 10 MB has to cover more seconds, so each second gets less data. Trim the clip or split it into parts for better quality.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and the file stays on your device.
